The successful candidate will conduct proof-of-concept studies in collaboration with an industrial partner, with work conducted jointly with the Department of Chemical Sciences.

Qualifications

Postdoctoral researcher with expertise to undertake experimental valorisation of pre-fractionated fast pyrolysis bio-oil.
Collaborative work with University of Limerick and an industrial partner on characterisation and upgrading these fractions.

Responsibilities

Conduct proof-of-concept studies using pre-fractionated fast pyrolysis bio-oil.
Characterise and upgrade bio-oil fractions for asphalt binder applications.
Test the application of bio-oil fractions in asphalt and heat systems.
