Job summary

Hunter Savage is recruiting a PLC Controls Engineer for a Cavan‑based manufacturing client. The role focuses on PLC and automation systems, with hands-on troubleshooting and system improvements within a team environment.

The position offers a days-based schedule (Mon–Thu 8:00–17:30, Fri 8:00–16:00) and an attractive salary with a performance bonus, supported by an established maintenance team in a growth‑oriented setting.

Qualifications

• Relevant PLC experience is the key requirement in production or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs is preferred.
• Two to three years' PLC experience after college will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support PLC and automation systems within a manufacturing environment.
• Diagnose control-system faults, carry out modifications and support commissioning activities.
• Contribute to system integration, equipment upgrades and ongoing improvement projects.
• Work alongside electrical and mechanical maintenance colleagues focusing on PLC and controls.
• Participate in capital investment and energy-efficiency projects.
• Support and improve existing systems.
