Innovate in Ireland is seeking a seasoned PLC Programmer / Controls Engineer to work on advanced automated manufacturing systems worldwide.

You will program PLC/HMI, commission and optimise production lines, diagnose faults, and support customers across the UK and internationally. The role involves direct client interaction, on-site commissioning, and ongoing system enhancements with excellent training and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation or Mechatronics engineering.
• 5+ years' experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
• Strong PLC programming experience (minimum 3 years).
• Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs.
• Excellent fault-finding skills on automated machinery.
• Knowledge of servo systems, industrial networks, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Able to travel within the UK and internationally.

Responsabilités

• Program PLC and HMI software and modify existing apps.
• Commission and optimise automated production systems.
• Diagnose controls, electrical and automation faults.
• Support servo systems, robotics and motion control equipment.
• Install, upgrade and maintain customer systems.
• Work directly with customers to deliver technical solutions.

We're looking for an experienced PL / Controls Engineer who enjoys getting hands-on with cutting-edge automation, solving complex technical challenges, and travelling to support customers across the UK and internationally

This is a varied role combining PLC programming, commissioning, fault finding, optimisation and customer support on sophisticated automated machinery

What you'll be doing

• PLC & HMI programming and software modifications
• Commissioning and optimising automated production systems
• Diagnosing controls, electrical and automation faults
• Supporting servo systems, robotics and motion control equipment
• Installing, upgrading and maintaining customer systems
• Working directly with customers to deliver technical solutions
• Producing service reports and technical documentation
• Identifying opportunities to improve system performance

What we're looking for

• Degree, HND or equivalent in Electrical, Controls, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering
• 5+ years' experience within industrial automation or controls engineering
• Strong PLC programming experience (minimum 3 years)
