Job summary
Innovate in Ireland is seeking a seasoned PLC Programmer / Controls Engineer to work on advanced automated manufacturing systems worldwide.
You will program PLC/HMI, commission and optimise production lines, diagnose faults, and support customers across the UK and internationally. The role involves direct client interaction, on-site commissioning, and ongoing system enhancements with excellent training and career development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation or Mechatronics engineering.
- 5+ years' experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
- Strong PLC programming experience (minimum 3 years).
- Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs.
- Excellent fault-finding skills on automated machinery.
- Knowledge of servo systems, industrial networks, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Able to travel within the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Program PLC and HMI software and modify existing apps.
- Commission and optimise automated production systems.
- Diagnose controls, electrical and automation faults.
- Support servo systems, robotics and motion control equipment.
- Install, upgrade and maintain customer systems.
- Work directly with customers to deliver technical solutions.
- Produce service reports and technical documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance.
