Job summary

Bentley Systems seeks a Senior Principal Engineer to build and own the end-to-end architecture of the Bentley Developer Platform, including API gateway, authentication, and metering. This hands-on leader will write production code, review PRs, and guide multiple engineering teams as the enterprise standard for API design and platform governance.

Qualifications

12+ years of software engineering experience with large-scale system architecture.
Hands-on contributor and technical leader for platform initiatives.
Experience with API management and integration in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the architecture of the developer platform, including API gateway, authentication, metering, and billing integration.
Own end-to-end platform architecture from developer experience to registry and analytics.
Write production code and review PRs; unblock engineers on the critical path.
Serve as the principal technical interface between Developer Platform, Product & Tech teams.
Publish API Design Standards with product teams to ensure practical adoption.
