Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Platform Architect 2 in Dundrum, Ireland, to design and deliver scalable internet infrastructure aligned with security, performance and availability standards. You will generate requirements with cross-functional teams, create architectural documents, and lead regional projects ensuring architecture stays current and effective.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of network, OS and web middleware.
• Thorough knowledge in core internet infrastructure design or web administration.
• Advanced knowledge of load balancers and web application firewalls.
• Working knowledge of database technologies.
• Working knowledge of cloud technologies.
• High energy, proactive, detail-oriented and able to function under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across teams.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and network micro-segmentation.
• Experience with YAML-based deployments.

Responsibilities

• Generate requirements with architects, engineers, and users to ensure high level requirements are met.
• Produce architectural artifacts (TADs, technical docs, flows) to keep stakeholders aligned.
• Maintain architectural products in current state and prevent obsolescence.
• Resolve internet architecture and operational problems impacting global infrastructure and product availability.
• Research and evaluate new technologies for Mastercard infrastructure.
• Lead regional projects with planning, cost control and resource management.
• Implement, manage and support internet infrastructure components following standards.
• Perform diagnostics, tuning, capacity planning and configuration management for internet components.
• Monitor production to assure stability and future compatibility.
