Job summary

Viasat in Ireland is seeking a Platform Architect to translate product and operational requirements into scalable platforms and solutions across domains. You will drive end-to-end architecture, shape the technology roadmap and collaborate with Product Management, Operations and Engineering to deliver reusable infrastructure.

You will mentor engineering teams, assess new opportunities, and ensure designs meet architectural principles while balancing delivery timelines and business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of professional software development with architecture experience.
Experience with networking, SD-WAN, cloud (hybrid/public/private).
Knowledge of 5G NR, NTN, NB-IoT is a plus.
Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end cross-domain architecture and translate requirements into designs.
Assess feasibility of opportunities and build business cases.
Provide technical leadership and mentor engineering teams.
Gather requirements with Product Management and Operations.
Shape technology roadmap and governance with PMO.
