Job summary

SMP Hire Ltd t/a KR Hire in County Monaghan, Ireland, is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. You will maintain, service, diagnose and repair a range of vehicles and plant equipment at our Glen Road site.

The ideal candidate has previous experience as a mechanic, a strong fault-diagnosis ability, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Full driving licence preferred; 39 hours per week; competitive salary and overtime available.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on vehicles, plant, and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and undertake repairs efficiently.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential issues.
• Repair and replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Work efficiently to minimise downtime of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.

SMP Hire Ltd t/a KR Hire are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a range of vehicles and plant equipment, ensuring all machinery is kept in safe and efficient working condition.You will be located at Glen Road, County Monaghan, H18 Y206

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on vehicles, plant, and machinery
• Diagnose mechanical faults and undertake repairs efficiently
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential issues
• Repair and replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques
• Experience working on commercial vehicles, plant machinery, or similar equipment is desirable
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment safely
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time management and problem-solving skills
• Relevant qualifications or certification preferred but not essential
• Full driving licence preferred
