Job summary

Harper Finley in Ireland is seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our maintenance team. You will maintain, service and repair mobile and fixed plant machinery with a hands-on approach and strong mechanical knowledge to quickly identify faults.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on loaders, dumpers, conveyors, crushers, screens and other equipment, complete preventative checks, assist with breakdowns, and collaborate with the wider maintenance and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Plant Fitter, Maintenance Fitter or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Experience maintaining mobile and fixed plant machinery.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mobile and fixed plant machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Service and maintain equipment to reduce downtime.
• Work on loaders, dumpers, conveyors, crushers, screens and other plant equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance checks and inspections.
• Assist with breakdowns and urgent repair work when required.
• Work closely with the wider maintenance and operations teams.

Due to continued activity, they are seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join their maintenance team.

The Role:

The Plant Fitter will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of mobile and fixed plant machinery. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical knowledge who can identify faults quickly and keep equipment operating efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mobile and fixed plant machinery
• Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently
• Service and maintain equipment to reduce downtime
• Work on machinery such as loaders, dumpers, conveyors, crushers, screens, and other plant equipment
• Complete preventative maintenance checks and inspections
• Assist with breakdowns and urgent repair work when required
• Work closely with the wider maintenance and operations teams

The Person:

• Previous experience working as a Plant Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
• Experience maintaining both mobile and fixed plant machinery
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures

The Offer:

• €25 per hour
• Average earnings of €60,000 - €70,000
• 50 hours per week available with overtime
• Monday to Friday role
