Job summary

Weltec Engineering Ltd. in Waterford is seeking a Plant & Equipment (P&E) Coordinator to manage plant assets across projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient operations.

You will work with project teams, maintain P&E records, perform inspections, assist procurement, and support site equipment requirements. A mechanical or electrical trade background is an advantage, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Basic proficiency with MS Word, Excel and asset compliance tracking systems.
• Familiarity with asset management using QR codes or similar tracking tech (training provided).
• Attention to detail, strong organisational and reporting capabilities.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, monitoring and control of plant and equipment for safety and compliance.
• Maintain records in the P&E compliance system, including asset and hire registers.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to source and procure equipment per project needs.
• Generate monthly reports on equipment performance and status.
• Conduct site and workshop inspections to ensure maintenance and safety standards.
• Perform PAT testing as required and respond to equipment needs on site.
• Coordinate with suppliers on warranty claims, repairs and replacements.
• Organise transfer/delivery of plant and equipment between workshop and sites.
• Personally deliver equipment to various sites when needed.

Plant & Equipment Coordinator

Role / Requirements:

We are seeking a Plant & Equipment (P&E) Coordinator to join our team in Waterford. Reporting to the EHS Director and working alongside the P&E Administrator, this role is critical in managing our P&E operations across various projects and ensuring the highest standards of compliance, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Oversee the daily operation, monitoring, and control of all plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with best practices and safety standards.
• Assist the P&E Admin in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the company’s P&E compliance management system, including asset and hire registers.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and site Supervisors to source and procure plant and equipment in line with project needs and procurement protocols.
• Assist in the generation of monthly reports for Weltec management meetings, detailing equipment performance, issues (e.g. lost, recovered, scrapped items), and current hire status.
• Conduct audits and inspections of plant and equipment on sites and in the workshop to ensure they are properly maintained and meet statutory and company safety standards.
• Perform PAT testing as required.
• Respond to site requests for equipment support, troubleshoot issues, and carry out basic maintenance and repairs when necessary.
• Assist the P&E Admin in coordinating with suppliers regarding warranty claims, repairs, and replacements.
• Organise and facilitate the transfer and delivery of plant and equipment, consumables, and prefabricated materials between the workshop and project sites using company vehicles.
• Personally deliver plant and equipment and prefabricated components to various sites as needed.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Basic skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and equipment compliance tracking systems (training and support will be provided on these systems).
• Familiarity with asset management systems using QR codes or similar technologies (training provided on Weltec’s system).
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and reporting skills.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work proactively in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant mechanical or electrical trade qualification is an advantage.
