Job summary

Roadhogs Recruitment Ltd. is recruiting an Assistant Pig Farm Manager for a farm in Co. Cavan, H12. You will lead an indoor unit with 1050 sows, oversee production, health, and welfare, and manage staff to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The role requires at least 2 years of supervisory experience and a degree in animal science or agriculture is preferred. Salary ranges from €38,000 to €42,000 DOE, with 40-hour weeks and every other weekend. Accommodation may be provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory or managerial experience.
• Degree in animal science, agriculture or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pig health management, breeding and nutrition desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the pig production cycle.
• Plan and execute production schedules to maximise productivity.
• Monitor pig health and growth to meet production goals.
• Ensure welfare and biosecurity measures across the unit.
• Maintain accurate records for production, health, and vaccination.
• Prepare reports for senior management on outcomes.
• Meet weekly KPIs and address underperforming sections.
