Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists Ltd is recruiting an Assistant Pig Farm Manager in Ireland. The role supports the Farm Manager in day-to-day pig unit operations, focusing on animal health, welfare, performance and biosecurity.

Applicants should have practical experience in commercial pig production, strong pig husbandry knowledge, and may have supervised staff. A driving licence is required. Accommodation is provided, with potential progression into senior management.

Qualifications

Previous practical experience within commercial pig production.
Good knowledge of pig husbandry, health and welfare.
Experience supervising or supporting farm staff would be advantageous.
Hands-on and confident working directly with livestock.
Strong observation, communication and organisational skills; reliable and able to work independently.
Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

Support the Farm Manager with day-to-day running of the pig unit and supervise staff when required.
Monitor pig health, welfare and performance; carry out routine husbandry and livestock tasks.
Identify and respond to health and production issues; support feeding and medication programmes.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, biosecurity and animal welfare.
Keep accurate farm and production records and ensure procedures are followed.
Support staff training and development; maintain farm facilities and equipment.
