Job summary

UPMC Aut Even Hospital in Kilkenny is seeking a Health and Performance Coordinator to deliver administrative, operational and clinical support within Physiotherapy. You will assist Chartered Physiotherapists in delivering rehabilitation and exercise programmes and help manage patient flow and records.

The role covers outpatient and inpatient physiotherapy, ward-based work and IT-driven service improvements.

Qualifications

• FETAC level 5 Physio assistant health service skills module or equivalent.
• Desirable: Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology qualification.
• Experience in healthcare/caring environment.
• Experience designing individual and team programmes.
• Experience with cohorts with chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for the Physiotherapy Department, managing high volumes of calls, emails and patient enquiries.
• Coordinate outpatient physiotherapy appointments across multiple Physiotherapists and maintain clinician diaries.
• Schedule, confirm, amend and reschedule appointments and issue patient communications and reminders.
• Support waiting list management and patient flow processes.
• Assist physiotherapists to deliver inpatient and post-operative outpatient physiotherapy.
• Deliver ward-based inpatient physiotherapy and outpatient physiotherapy under supervision.
• Maintain patient administration and clinical records per GDPR and hospital policies.
• Engage in IT developments related to service user and service administration.
• Contribute to service planning and development as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Keep up-to-date statistics and other administrative records.
