Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Phlebotomist I to accurately collect and handle patient specimens for diagnostic testing. The role operates in a team-based medical environment across varied care settings, emphasizing patient engagement and safety.

Responsibilities include using multiple collection techniques, maintaining PPE standards, and contributing to training and special projects while supporting department needs and on-call/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Preferred.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing using venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swabs.
• Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and family members with empathy.
• Adhere to PPE and safety standards in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Maintain organizational systems and assist with training new staff.
