Job summary

PathGroup in Ireland (Munster) seeks a Patient Service Floater to support PSC and PST coverage, with travel to client sites on short notice. You will perform phlebotomy and specimen processing, interact with patients professionally, and document information in PathConnect.

A high school diploma is required; phlebotomy certification and medical training are preferred. Ensure accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance across duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy Certification is preferred (Required in Louisiana).

Responsibilities

  • Travel to a client assignment within a designated region with short notice.
  • Greet customers courteously and professionally.
  • Ensure PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
  • Explain venipuncture and specimen collection clearly to patients.
  • Dispose of biohazard fluids per applicable laws and policies.
  • Enter patient and billing information into PathConnect and other systems.
  • Package and label specimens and transport them correctly.
  • Maintain PSC/IOPST logs and daily records.
  • Assist with monthly statistics and data compilation.
  • Perform clerical duties and electronic data entry.
  • Adhere to grooming, lab coat policies, and PPE usage.
