Job summary

Sheridans Pharmacy in Killester is seeking a part-time, on-site Pharmacist to join our community-focused team. You will dispense and check prescriptions, provide medication counselling, and advise patients on safe and appropriate use of medicines and over-the-counter products.

You will review prescriptions for accuracy, manage patient records, support adherence and health-promotion initiatives, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliant, patient-centered care during your shifts.

Qualifications

  • Professional pharmacy qualifications with a recognized degree in Pharmacy and current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, prescription verification, and safe dispensing practices, with attention to patient safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain medicines clearly and work with diverse patients and colleagues.
  • Experience with pharmacy systems and patient record management; solid organizational skills for workflow, stock, and documentation.
  • Understanding of Irish pharmacy regulations, data protection, and ethical standards; confidentiality and professional conduct.
  • Ability to work independently during busy periods and contribute to a supportive team.
  • Previous community pharmacy experience; familiarity with chronic disease management, vaccinations, or health promotion is beneficial.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Pharmacist role based at Killester. The Pharmacist will dispense and check prescriptions, provide medication counseling, and advise patients on the safe and appropriate use of medicines and over-the-counter products. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and clinical appropriateness, managing patient medication records, and supporting adherence and health promotion initiatives. The role involves collaborating with pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals, overseeing pharmacy operations during assigned shifts, and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and professional standards. The Pharmacist will also contribute to quality improvement, stock management, and a respectful, person-centered customer experience.
