Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Downstream Operations Intern in Ireland to gain experience across technical and professional areas, contributing to projects that help extend patients' lives globally.

You will join a diverse, multi-skilled global team focused on world-class manufacturing, continuous improvement, and patient-centered solutions, with a fixed-term internship offering hands-on exposure to CAPA, batch operations, and SOP development.

Qualifications

• Currently working towards a degree in Science or engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exposure to CAPA and continuous improvement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead cross-functional teams.
• Support cost reduction, process efficiency, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Monitor and support batch operations from vial thaw to fill.
• Assist CAPA management and QRAs closure.
• Support start-up projects and prepare SOPs/electronic batch records.
