Job summary

The Rehab Group in Mayo is seeking a Personal Assistant to provide Home Support/Personal Assistance to older persons and adults with disabilities. This part-time role works within a multi-disciplinary team to support clients to live with dignity in their own home and community across Mayo.

We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and offer QQI Level 5 training, on-the-job development, and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• A relevant FETAC Healthcare qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• On the job QQI Level 5 training provided.
• Experience of working with elderly persons and/or with physical and sensory disabilities.
• Experience in the provision of home based services.

Responsibilities

• Provide a Home Support service to older persons and adults with disabilities within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (transfer, washing, toileting, feeding, etc.).
• Maintain basic knowledge of domiciliary care, hygiene, skin care and pressure areas.

Permanent Part-Time Contract, 30 hours per week

Location: Mayo

About the Role:

Your Responsibilities:

• To provide a Home Support service to older persons and to adults with disabilities. We work within a multi-disciplinary team context, enabling Clients to live with respect and dignity within their own home and community. Support adults / with physical and/or sensory disability in their own home
• Assisting clients in all the Activities of Daily Living. These may include assistance with transfer, washing, toileting, feeding etc.
• To have a basic knowledge of domiciliary care, i.e. awareness of good hygiene practice, care of the skin and pressure areas etc.

Additional Requirements:

• Full driving licence is essential.

If applicable, candidates will need to provide a police certificate for any country they've lived in before moving to Ireland

Salary starting from point 1 €17.17 per hour .
