Job summary

Muiríosa Foundation is seeking a motivated Support Worker to assist individuals with intellectual disability to live a good life through person-centred approaches aligned to their interests and preferences.

The successful candidate will support individuals to connect with their local communities, develop authentic relationships and lead initiatives that enable social engagement, communication and valued social roles. Sleepover shifts and rosters apply.

Qualifications

• Experience/knowledge of supporting persons with a range of support needs.
• Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.
• Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to realise their vision for a ‘good life’ through person-centred approaches.
• Lead initiatives to help individuals live a life of their choosing and what matters to them.
• Help individuals become connected and valued within their local community and develop authentic relationships.
• Be available for sleepover shifts and willing to work alone in residents’ homes.
