Muiríosa Foundation supports individuals (and their families) with an intellectual disability and/or autism to live self-directed, connected and fulfilling lives. Currently we employ over 1,700 staff and support people in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Longford, Kildare, Tipperary, Kilkenny. We provide supports through the Regional structure and the Person Centred Wing . Each region exercises a high level of devolved autonomy across all major operational functions including residential homes

The focus of this role will be to support an individual to realise their vision to leading a good life through Person Centred approaches in line with personal interests, skills, will and preference.
We are seeking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, creative and energetic Support Worker to support individuals with an intellectual disability to realise their vision for a ‘good life’. The focus of the role will be to lead initiatives in supporting the individuals to live a life of their choosing and what matters most to them. The role will support the individuals to become connected and valued within their local community, to provide opportunities for new experiences and to assist each person in developing real and authentic relationships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supporting individuals to develop valued social roles and also have experience in supporting individuals with communication needs and those who may display behaviours of concern and will have experience of person centred planning and knowledge of person directed and individualised support approaches.
