Reporting into our Head of People and Culture with a dotted line into finance, this role combines payroll administration, employee lifecycle support, and people operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and employee-friendly processes.
Key responsibilities:
Payroll Management
- Review and maintain employee records and payroll data.
- Prepare monthly payroll files for all Team Members and reconcile accounts.
- Partner with Finance to reconcile payroll, benefits and pension costs and improve reporting accuracy.
- Ensure legal compliance and alignment with contracts, updating when relevant.
- Administer pensions, social welfare, bonuses, and statutory payments (e.g. maternity, sick pay). Research benefit trends and influence people strategy.
- Monitor and evolve pensions, social welfare, bonus, and statutory payment processes in line with regulatory changes, company growth, and the wider People Strategy Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure business continuity and audit readiness.
- Support audits and generate payroll reports.
- Recommend and implement tech solutions to improve payroll and integration with finance systems.
- Work with Finance to support internal and external audits relating to payroll, benefits, HR compliance and ESG reporting.
People Operations – Promote Positive Team Member Experiences
- Coordinate recruitment: schedule interviews, draft offers, conduct references.
- Document employment changes (promotions, salary reviews, terminations).
- Support annual people process including salary reviews with Line Managers, goal setting, performance reviews, and engagement initiatives, including coordination, updating templates, and following up with teams.
- Identify trends in absence, turnover, recruitment and engagement, escalating risks, and opportunities.
- Track and report on people metrics: turnover, absence, headcount and payroll costs against identified best-practice benchmarks and trends.
- Annual review and evolution of policies, including the company handbook, related to rewards and benefits and Team Member experiences to ensure compliance with Irish laws and best practice.
- Update People handbook based on evolving policies that reflect Team Member Life Experiences
- Support the implementation and communication of People policies, programes, and initiatives across the business.
- Update New People hub (when developed) when required to reflect needs of Team Members
- Act as first point of contact for payroll and people-related queries.
- Coordinate annual learning and development planning and monitor completion of mandatory training.
- Maintain training records and compliance matrices.
- Administration of Personal Growth and Development programmes, including Team Member training and learning and development across site and office, and tracking of same.
- Ensure GDPR and employment equity compliance.
- Co-ordinate Team Member Training across site and office.
- Support wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement initiative. Support Head of People and Culture with Overarching people strategy and a world-class Team Member experience.
- Recommend, implement and evolve tech to support the People function, including administration, training and People Hub evolution.

Background and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human relations or related field is desirable
- Proven experience as a Payroll Professional or in a similar role (minimum of 3 years)
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practice
- Experience coordinating audits, reviews or regulatory activities.
- Experience maintaining and improving HRIS and people systems, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy and an efficient employee experience.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement in people, payroll, and business processes.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processes and regulations and tax laws.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Experience working in a scaling, multi-site, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy environment would be advantageous.
