Job summary

Carton House, A Fairmont Hotel, is seeking a People & Culture Manager to lead our colleague experience and HR strategy in Maynooth. You will partner with hotel leadership to develop a culture where colleagues can thrive and feel recognised for their contributions.

The role requires strong People & Culture experience, solid knowledge of Irish employment law, and the ability to coach leaders in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in People & Culture / HR, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Excellent knowledge of Irish employment law.
• Ability to coach and influence hotel leaders.
• Strong organisational skills in fast-paced settings.
• Commitment to visible, approachable HR in operations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Directors to create a supportive colleague environment.
• Develop and recognise staff; enable daily impactful work.
• Support employee relations, HR queries, performance and absence management.
• Coordinate recognition, wellbeing, recruitment, onboarding, and training.
• Prepare payroll information and maintain employee records.
• Ensure compliance with policies and employment legislation; maintain HR systems.
• Support colleague development and engagement.
• Handle confidential information with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Director of People & Culture & Hotel Leaders- to create an environment where colleagues can

• Support employee relations and HR queries.
• Assist with performance and absence management.
• Coordinate colleague recognition and wellbeing initiatives.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training programmes.
• Prepare payroll information and maintain employee records.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
• Maintain HR systems and produce people-related reports.
• Support colleague development and employee engagement activities.
• Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Key Requirements:

• Knows luxury hospitality and understands hotel operations.
• Has strong People & Culture/HR experience.
• Brings excellent knowledge of Irish employment law.
• Can coach, influence and positively challenge leaders.
• Is organised, commercial and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Believes HR should be visible, approachable and connected to the operation.
• Above all, genuinely cares about people.
