Job summary

Macmillan Davies is partnering with a leading retail organisation to recruit a People Advisor to support its Irish business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional with strong Employee Relations experience to provide practical, commercially focused advice across the employee lifecycle.

The role is 30 hours per week, with a hybrid arrangement of 2 days from home and 2–3 days on-site in Dublin.

Qualifications

• Extensive Employee Relations experience and knowledge of Irish employment law.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Practical, commercially-focused and solutions-driven approach.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HR and Employee Relations advice to managers and colleagues.
• Manage ER cases including absence, performance, conduct, grievances and dignity at work.
• Coach managers on effective people management and employment legislation.
• Ensure cases are managed fairly and in line with Irish employment law and WRC guidance.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and wider employee lifecycle activity.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional with strong Employee Relations experience to provide practical, commercially focused advice across the employee lifecycle.

The role is 30 hours per week, spread across 4 or 5 days, with a hybrid working arrangement of 2 days from home and 2-3 days on-site in Dublin.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide practical HR and Employee Relations advice to managers and colleagues.
• Manage ER cases including absence, performance, conduct, grievances and dignity at work.
• Coach managers on effective people management and employment legislation.
• Ensure cases are managed fairly and in line with Irish employment law and WRC guidance.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and wider employee lifecycle activity.
• Maintain accurate HR records and support the wider People Support team.
• Keep up to date with legislation and contribute to continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong Employee Relations experience and knowledge of Irish employment legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A practical, commercially focused and solutions-driven approach.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
