Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment are representing a leading global organisation in the medical devices and healthcare manufacturing sector seeking a Payroll Assistant to support the end-to-end payroll process in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.

In this role you will process payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensure accurate and timely payment, maintain compliance with legislation and company policies, and handle confidential information with discretion within a large-scale manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • IPASS qualification or NFQ Level 6 qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a payroll-related role.
  • Experience with SAP, Workday or SD Worx would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll transactions for hourly and salaried employees in line with established procedures and payroll schedules.
  • Support payroll and time & attendance activities, maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Investigate and resolve standard payroll and time-related queries, escalating more complex issues where required.
  • Assist with the administration, testing and validation of payroll and time & attendance systems.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee data across payroll and HR systems such as SAP, Workday or SD Worx.
  • Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and in line with company policies and legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with employees, managers and internal stakeholders regarding payroll-related queries.
  • Prepare, maintain and file payroll documentation to support accurate records and audit readiness.
  • Prepare and post payroll journals to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and process payroll accruals and cross-charges.
  • Support payroll audits, compliance activities and month-end reporting requirements.
  • Assist with other Finance activities as required.

Payroll Assistant – Finance

Location: Clonmel, Co. Tipperary
Working Pattern: 4 days onsite, 1 day working from home

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join the Finance team of a leading global organisation operating within the medical devices and healthcare manufacturing sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, large-scale manufacturing environment in Clonmel, where you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end payroll process for a sizeable workforce of both hourly and salaried employees.

The successful candidate will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, company policies and payroll procedures. You will also handle highly sensitive and confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll transactions for hourly and salaried employees in line with established procedures and payroll schedules.
  • Support payroll and time & attendance activities, maintaining accurate employee records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a payroll-related role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Experience working with payroll and HR systems; experience with SAP, Workday or SD Worx would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working in a quality-focused or regulated manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
