Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is hiring an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our Outsourced Payroll team in Dublin. You will manage payrolls for a diverse client portfolio across weekly, fortnightly and monthly frequencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Irish payroll legislation.

You will deliver a high-quality client experience and support the wider payroll function. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of payroll experience, familiarity with payroll bureau environments, and qualifications

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years' experience in a payroll position.
  • Experience in a payroll bureau environment would be advantageous.
  • Desirable professional qualification such as IPASS, Accounting Technician or Tax Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Process payrolls of varying complexity across weekly, fortnightly and monthly frequencies.
  • Reconcile payrolls and ensure data accuracy.
  • Handle payroll-related client queries professionally and promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll controls and statutory deadlines.
  • Upload net pay files across multiple banking platforms.
  • Coordinate with pension and health-insurance providers on payroll matters.
  • Submit payroll submissions and statutory returns to Revenue on time.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
  • Support the wider payroll team with additional duties and projects.

Payroll Administrator

We are seeking to hire an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our Outsourced Payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries while developing your technical payroll expertise within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality payroll services, ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation and providing an exceptional client experience.

Main Responsibilities
  • Process payrolls of varying complexity across weekly, fortnightly and monthly frequencies.
  • Reconcile payrolls on a periodic basis and ensure accuracy of payroll data.
  • Manage payroll-related client queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Adhere to internal controls and payroll best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Upload employee net pay files across multiple banking platforms, including AIB, BOI, HSBC and other financial institutions.
  • Liaise with third-party providers, including pension and health insurance providers, regarding payroll-related administration.
  • Ensure all payroll submissions and statutory returns are completed accurately and submitted to Revenue within required deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.
  • Support the wider payroll team with additional duties and projects as required.
Skills And Attributes
  • 1-2 years' previous experience in a payroll position.
  • Experience working in a payroll bureau environment would be advantageous.
  • Relevant professional qualification such as IPASS, Accounting Technician or Tax Technician would be desirable.
  • Strong technical, organisational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client payrolls and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience delivering accurate and timely payroll services.
  • Working knowledge of PAYE, PRSI, USC, BIK, ROS, EFT and CSO reporting requirements.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to changing business requirements.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with strong client service focus and enthusiasm.
