Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing complex reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills; strong communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve month-end journal entries, including accruals and intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Review bank reconciliations and multi-currency postings.
  • Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting packs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and ERP enhancements.

Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, month-end close, and accounting operations for a portfolio of international clients. This role offers the opportunity to work with complex multinational organisations across a variety of industries, partnering with both internal and client stakeholders in a fast-paced Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
  • Review and approve month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, payroll, and intercompany transactions.

  • Review fixed asset subledger reconciliations to the General Ledger.

  • Review and approve bank reconciliations, including foreign exchange postings related to multi-currency transactions.

  • Review accounting entries relating to leases, deferred revenue, inventory valuation, and share-based compensation.

  • Oversee the completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are investigated and resolved on a timely basis.

  • Perform and review balance sheet and P&L variance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and required adjustments.

  • Support the preparation and review of financial statements and management reporting packages.

Financial Oversight & Controls
  • Review financial information received from local offices and international stakeholders, ensuring adjustments are appropriately supported and documented.

  • Review bridge files and financial statements, confirming alignment to trial balances and supporting schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and statutory reporting requirements.

  • Support adherence to reporting deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.

  • Act as a key liaison between operational teams, clients, and senior management.

Process Improvement & Projects
  • Maintain and enhance process documentation and operating procedures.

  • Identify opportunities for standardisation, automation, and process efficiency improvements.

  • Support ERP implementations, system enhancements, and finance transformation programmes.

  • Partner with Dynamics and wider technology teams on process optimisation initiatives.

  • Contribute to project management activities and continuous improvement programmes across the finance function.

Skills & Experience
  • ACA / ACCA qualified with approximately 3-5 years' post-qualification experience in a financial reporting, RTR, or accounting operations environment.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes.

  • Experience reviewing complex reconciliations and accounting areas across multiple entities.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring junior team members.

  • Experience working with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.

  • Exposure to ERP implementation, migration, or finance transformation projects is highly desirable.

  • Experience with BlackLine or similar reconciliation and close management tools is advantageous.

  • Previous experience working within a shared services, outsourced finance, or BPO environment would be beneficial.

  • Experience supporting global or multinational clients across multiple jurisdictions and reporting frameworks is desirable.
