Job summary

The Maples Group is seeking a Professional Support Lawyer for its Irish Funds and Investment Management Group in Ireland. The role suits an experienced PSL or fee earner with at least six years PQE, combining client engagement, practice development and knowledge management responsibilities.

Key duties include drafting precedents, monitoring market developments, producing client briefings, coordinating training with L&D, and supporting client development and thought leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of six years' PQE in a leading law firm with a funds background
• Experience as a PSL is preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with knowledge management technology and document automation systems is advantageous
• Enthusiasm for developing knowledge systems and promoting awareness across global teams
• Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills

About the Role

The PSL will work in our market-leading Irish Funds and Investment Management team. This role is ideally for an experienced PSL or fee earner with a minimum of six years' PQE combining strategic client engagement initiatives, practice development and support, alongside operational knowledge management and legal support responsibilities. You will be an integral member of the Funds practice group and work closely with practice group co-heads and partners to support the group's practice and its knowledge management needs.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Developing, drafting and maintaining precedents, legal guides and practice notes
• Researching, monitoring and analysing legal and market developments and trends
• Preparing concise briefings for internal teams and external clients, including alerts and topical emails
• ln conjunction with the L&D team, coordinating internal and external training sessions on relevant legal and regulatory matters. This might include preparing and delivering training, where appropriate
• Assisting with client development and marketing initiatives, including creating, producing and delivering thought leadership content, presentations, podcasts and webinars
• Participating in client meetings and events, providing technical and commercial support to further enhance and develop relationships
• Reviewing and updating checklists, other standardised and automated documents to ensure new joiners and transactional lawyers operate in an efficient and consistent manner
• Liaising with lawyers to gather feedback, raise awareness and promote participation in knowledge management initiatives
• Promoting knowledge systems and platforms and working with professional support teams to share knowledge in a uniform way across global teams

EXPERIENCE

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of six years' experience in a recognised leading law firm with a funds focused background
• Experience working as a PSL is preferred but not essential
• Current experience of knowledge management technology and document automation systems would be an advantage
• Enthusiasm for developing knowledge systems, improving access and promoting awareness across global teams
• Responsiveness to the needs of fee‑earners
• Outstanding analytical, drafting and technical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A strong academic background
