Job summary

The Maples Group in Dublin seeks an experienced Asset Finance Associate to join our Dublin team. You will advise clients on Irish law across asset finance matters and manage transactions end-to-end, working with a global client base including lessors, financiers and private equity investors.

You will review documentation, prepare security agreements, and contribute to business development while supporting junior lawyers in a collaborative, high-achievement environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience gained within a top-tier law firm in Ireland, the U.K., or internationally.
  • Strong academic background with excellent written communication and drafting skills.
  • 1–5 years' relevant post-qualification experience within asset finance, banking and/or structured finance in a private practice law firm or an in-house firm.

Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on Irish legal aspects across asset finance matters.
  • Managing transactions end-to-end efficiently and effectively.
  • Working with a client base comprising domestic and international clients, including top-tier lessors, private equity institutions, airlines and financiers.
  • Reviewing transaction documentation from an Irish law perspective across structures and jurisdictions.
  • Preparing and negotiating Irish security documentation (share charge, account charge, mortgage).
  • Engaging in business development activities and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Supervising junior lawyers and sharing knowledge within the team.

About the Role

This role represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our asset finance team in Dublin and make a significant contribution to our growing practice.


The team advises private equity investors, operating lessors, financial institutions, export credit agencies and airlines on a wide range of asset finance structures. These include asset backed securitisations, aviation platform establishment, warehouse financings, portfolio asset sales and purchases, operating and finance lease structures as well as export credit agency facilities.


The successful candidate will have exposure to high-quality matters and will work as part of, and be supported by, a highly successful and collegiate team.


The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Advising clients on Irish legal aspects across a broad range of asset finance matters

  • Responsible for managing transactions end-to-end efficiently and effectively

  • Working with a client base comprising of domestic and international clients, including top-tier lessors, private equity institutions, airlines and financiers

  • Review of transaction documentation from an Irish law perspective across a wide range of structures and jurisdictions;

  • Preparation and negotiation of Irish security documentation (share charge, account charge, mortgage)

  • Engaging in business development activities, being active in the promotion of the firm and seeking opportunities for new work and cross-selling

  • Working as part of a team, including supervising junior lawyers’ work and taking an active part in sharing knowledge and experience within the team

The successful candidate will have outstanding technical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well within a team environment.


The successful individual's qualifications and experience will include:



  • Experience gained within a top-tier law firm in Ireland, the U.K., or internationally

  • A strong academic background, with excellent written communication and drafting skills

  • 1 – 5 years' relevant post qualification experience within asset finance, banking and/or structured finance in a private practice law firm or an in-house firm


This post requires significant attention to detail, professionalism, ability to multi-task, and excellent organisational, prioritisation and communications skills. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to adhere to internal policies and procedures.
