Job summary

BaxterStorey in Ireland is hiring a General Assistant to keep a busy kitchen clean and well-organised. This role covers dishwashing, food preparation support, kitchen cleanliness and friendly guest service. The position is 16 hours per week with occasional overtime to cover holidays, and requires weekend and occasional evening shifts.

Own transport is preferred for after-hours travel. We offer 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, birthday leave, paid maternity leave, cycle to work, meals on

Qualifications

• No formal education required; understanding of the role preferred.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients and preparing sandwiches
• Customer Service – provide excellent service by being attentive to guests’ needs at every point on their customer journey. Answering questions and addressing any concerns or issues in a friendly manner
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order.
