Medforce Healthcare Recruitment in partnership with their client are seeking a Speech & Language Therapist to join a dedicated Children's Services team in Co. Laois.

The role involves comprehensive assessments, evidence-based interventions and family-centred support within a Primary Care framework. You will work with children with a range of communication needs, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, attend MDT meetings and maintain clinical records to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
• Current CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
• Experience with children in community/primary care/paediatric settings.
• Knowledge of child development and communication disorders.
• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Good organisation and caseload prioritisation.
• Valid driving licence may be required.
• Garda Vetting will be required.

Responsabilités

• Complete comprehensive assessments of children’s speech, language, communication and functional needs.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based, individualised intervention programmes.
• Provide family-centred therapy and support parents and carers to develop strategies that can be incorporated into everyday routines.
• Work with children presenting with a range of communication needs, including speech sound difficulties, language delay, developmental language disorder and social communication difficulties.
• Monitor children’s progress and regularly review and adapt intervention plans.
• Provide appropriate advice, education and training to parents, carers, schools and other professionals.
• Work closely with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to ensure a coordinated approach to children’s care.
• Attend MDT meetings, case discussions and clinical reviews as required.
• Liaise with schools, community services and other relevant professionals involved in the child’s care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, reports and documentation in line with professional standards.
• Manage an allocated caseload effectively and prioritise referrals according to clinical need.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance.
• Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing CPD, training and reflective practice.
• Promote a child-centred, inclusive and strengths-based approach throughout all aspects of the role.
