Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited is seeking an Optical Network Development Engineer to design and deploy optical networking systems that connect our data centers. You will work with cross-functional teams to evaluate technologies, draft network plans, and implement scalable solutions for AWS global infrastructure.

You will collaborate with vendors, automate testing procedures, and develop documentation to support operations.

Qualifications

4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment.

Responsibilities

Design and deploy optical network solutions that support data center connectivity and scalability across AWS global infrastructure
Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to evaluate new optical hardware and software capabilities, and develop comprehensive implementation plans for network integration
Develop and automate optical testing procedures to qualify optical modules and ensure they meet performance and reliability standards
Partner with network operations teams to identify operational issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement improvements to quality and return merchandise authorization processes
Create and maintain technical documentation that clearly communicates network designs, test results, and operational procedures to support team knowledge and best practices
