Job summary

Solar Path in Cork is seeking an organised Operations Manager to bridge sales and installation. This hybrid role blends home-based planning with the Cork office to oversee the solar installation pipeline from sale to completion.

You will design installation specs, liaise with customers and sales, schedule crews, troubleshoot on-site issues, manage inventory, and help build scalable processes as the business grows. A full clean driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in operational scheduling, logistics, or project coordination.
• Solar or construction industry experience is a major plus.
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, scheduling tools and stock systems.

Responsibilities

• Bridge sales and installation to ensure projects move from sale to completion.
• Create solar panel roof designs and review site data to finalise installation specs.
• Contact customers and coordinate with sales to confirm installation details.
• Schedule installations weeks in advance and assign crew members.
• Troubleshoot real-time issues on active installations and reschedule as needed.

Job description

We are a fast-paced solar installation company, four years old, with a tight-knit team of 20. In that time we've grown from a standing start to hundreds of installations a year across Munster, and we've done it by being straight with customers and doing the job properly.

As we continue to scale, we are looking for a highly organised, proactive Operations Manager to bridge the gap between sales and installation. This role is a hybrid position split between working from home and our Cork office.

Core Mission

You will assist management and the sales team with the day-to-day running of our solar installation pipeline, ensuring projects move smoothly from initial sale to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Review

Create solar panel roof designs, review sales and site survey information to finalise precise installation specifications.

Customer & Team Liaison

Contact customers and collaborate with the sales team to confirm final installation details, acting as the customer's point of contact through the delivery phase.

Scheduling & Allocation

Schedule all upcoming installations weeks in advance and assign the correct team members to each project.

Daily Problem-solving

Troubleshoot and solve real-time problems that arise for team members during active installations, rescheduling dates as needed.

Inventory & Procurement

Review current stock levels, place orders, and look ahead at upcoming pipelines to preorder specific project requirements.

Process & Improvement

As the business grows, you will help put proper systems and records behind all company actions.

Trouble shooting

Manage initial service call requests and technical queries from customers.

Health & Safety

Act as Health and Safety Officer for the company.

Role Requirements

• Location: Based in or near Cork (hybrid office/remote flexibility).
• Employment type: Full-time.
• Experience: Proven experience in operational scheduling, logistics, or project coordination. Solar or construction industry experience is a major plus.
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, scheduling, tools and stock management systems, and quick to pick up new software.
• Confident learning solar design software (or existing experience with tools such as Aurora, PV*SOL, OpenSolar or similar).
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to visit sites when a design or a problem needs eyes on it.

• Highly organised with excellent time-management skills, with a strong ability to multi task
• Natural problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, reactive startup environment. Comfortable making a call with incomplete information and owning the outcome.
• Strong, clear communicator capable of managing customer expectations and field teams, and equally comfortable on the phone to a homeowner or installers on site.
• Commercially aware - conscious of the cost of an idle crew, a wasted call-out or an over-ordered pallet.
• Self-motivated and disciplined, particularly on the days you are working from home.
