ID Recruitment is partnering with a leadingbiopharmaceutical manufacturing company to recruit an Operations Manager forits Castlebar facility.
The Operations Manager will lead the planning, coordinationand overall direction of manufacturing operations. The successful candidatewill bring a strong understanding of customer needs, operational challenges andemerging opportunities. With expertise in engineering and manufacturingexcellence, they will drive scalability and efficiency while developing bothshort- and long-term strategies to address challenges, capitalise onopportunities and respond effectively to changing business condition
Main Duties and Responsibilities include;
- Work with the Associate Director of Operations to overseeCastlebar business operations relating to Production and Warehouse andlogistics, while managing, developing and evaluating these teams.
- Drive schedule adherence and manufacturing efficiencythrough effective production control and visual management systems.
- Ensures continual quality system compliance by adherence toestablished and evolving QMS and Customer requirements.
- Own staffing level decisions across the production floor,adjusting shift patterns and overtime to meet daily requirements whilecontrolling labor cost. Ensure prioritization of Manufacturing Engineeringactivities to support production.
- Lead manufacturing operational improvement projectsend-to-end, from scoping through implementation and measured results.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain (Planning, Procurement,Transport & Logistics and Customer Service) to identify and resolveproblems as they arise.
- Work with the Planning department to address problemsidentified in daily production reports, such as orders on hold and past dueorders.
- Work closely with Software development team to advise andtest changes made to Meissner ERP and MES systems.
- Develop systems which promote efficiency, accountability andcontinuous organisational improvement.
- Oversee creation of processes for new operations and overseeinstallation and management of these new technologies and revenue streams inthe Castlebar facility. Own labor efficiency and utilization KPIs; when targetsare missed, work with supervisors to diagnose the cause and drive correctiveaction.
- Promote a safe work environment. Provide recommendations onmaintaining the safety of the work environment. Participate in EnvironmentalHealth and Safety programs. Address corrective actions whenever a hazard isidentified. Notify supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafework practices.
- Oversee create, revision, and adherence to StandardOperation Procedures (SOP’s) related to Castlebar manufacturing operations.
- Continually manage multiple shifts for production &warehousing to ensure efficient utilization of capacity, this includes but isnot limited to the review of shift patterns, over time schedules, supportstructures, etc.
- Ensure quality of product is consistent to reduce returns oroperational inefficiencies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience supporting engineering,product development, manufacturing, and business operations in a leadershiprole.
- 3+ years of prior people management experience preferred.
- Minimum Level 8 degree or equivalent qualification inEngineering, Business Management, Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, or similar.
- Action-oriented with a high-level drive for results andpassion to drive business in a competitive environment.
- Goal oriented and self-motivated individual with capabilityto work in cross-functional manner and multicultural environment.
- Good interpersonal skills with excellent communicationskills to liaise and strengthen relationship with internal peers and externalcustomers.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to use advanced computer skills is essentialprograms including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
