Job summary

Veolia Ireland is hiring an O&M Technician - Mechanical to operate, maintain and troubleshoot our water and wastewater plant equipment at Osberstown, Co. Kildare. You will perform routine checks, servicing, calibrations and CMMS entries, with on-site and occasional on-call duties as required.

The role demands a trade-qualified Mechanical fitter, 2+ years in water/wastewater environments, and flexibility for after-hours work. Strong teamwork, problem solving and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Mechanical fitter
• 2+ years' experience in water/wastewater treatment plants is an advantage
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours including on-call/out-of-hours
• Self-motivated with ability to work in a team and on own initiative
• Strong technical capability with attention to detail
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Effective time management and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine checks and monitoring of plant, equipment and processes to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, calibration and testing of equipment per CMMS and vendor recommendations.
• Complete planned maintenance and record completion in CMMS.
• Maintain equipment such as pumps, valves, dewatering equipment and related plant in above-ground and confined spaces.
• Monitor and troubleshoot wastewater treatment processes; maintain plant housekeeping and sludge handling facilities.
• Liaise with sub-contractors to ensure maintenance tasks are completed safely and on time.
• Respond to plant/equipment failures with repairs or replacements as required and record outcomes in CMMS.
• Identify and manage appropriate spares to ensure reliability; plan shutdowns with management.
• Ensure permit to work, LOTO, confined spaces and hot works permits are adhered to.
