Job summary

Responsibilities

Role Summary:

The role of the Onsite AV Technician is to test, repair, and/or maintain a variety of Audio Visual (AV) & Videoconferencing (VC) equipment and systems to ensure maximum Room Availability to the end users on site. The role is highly Customer Service focused so the ability to consistently demonstrate a professional demeanor, appearance and attitude while you interact with the end user and other team members is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all AV spaces are functional and presentable for use
  • Daily system testing to ensure correct operation of AV equipment and room functionality
  • Perform routine testing and problem diagnosis for projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, Displays and LED Video Walls.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to identify problems and steps towards resolution
  • Troubleshoot AV problems last minute as required as well as non-critical situations
  • Assist in the set up and support of high level, multi room events. Setup and breakdown of
  • Assist with company meetings/functions that require use of AV infrastructure (audio, video conferencing, webcasting, visual display or projection, and control system operations)
  • Maintain accurate asset inventories and equipment records.
  • Utilize remote monitoring and management platforms to identify, investigate, and respond to alerts, incidents, and system performance issues.
  • Interact and update the Help Desk ticketing system to respond to end user AV requests
  • Responsible for escalating all Tier 2 break fix issues to our Service Helpdesk for resolution.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong ability to work independently on site to be the single point of contact for the collaboration services at the site yet work as a strong team member within the Helpdesk.
  • Communicate with end users to assist with diagnosing and resolving issues that occur.
  • Provide basic training of equipment to client personnel.
  • Participate in root‑cause analysis of technical issues to assist with the resolution of internal tickets.
  • Conduct 1st Level break/fix diagnosis and elevate any technical issues that require further investigation to our Service Department. Coordinate with the Service Helpdesk with Room availability.
  • Ability to test equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
  • Ability to work and think independently to meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written with fluent English.
  • Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills.
  • Update and recommend processes and procedure changes to better assist customers and resolve issues in an accurate and timely manner.
Education and/or Experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AV practices and procedures
  • Videoconferencing experience including operation, call set-up and equipment
  • Experience and knowledge of web conferencing tools such as Webex, Teams, Zoom, etc.
