Job summary

Medforce is recruiting an Experienced Staff Grade or Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Paediatric Primary Care Occupational Therapy Team serving Network 4 and Network 5 in South Dublin. The role offers the chance to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary community setting with a varied paediatric caseload and close collaboration with families, schools and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (mandatory).
• CORU registration required.
• Senior Grade: minimum 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Paediatric experience essential.
• Strong communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with developmental and complex needs.
• Support children in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, school participation and functional independence.
• Develop and implement individualised intervention plans.
• Collaborate with families, schools and multidisciplinary team members (SLT, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work).
• Deliver parent education, home programmes and school-based recommendations.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in team meetings, service development and clinical supervision.

Job description

We are currently recruiting an Experienced Staff Grade or Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Paediatric Primary Care Occupational Therapy Team covering Network 4 and Network 5 services in South Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary primary care setting, providing intervention and support to children and families within the community.

The successful candidate will manage a varied paediatric caseload and work closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary colleagues to support children in reaching their developmental and functional goals.

Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:

• Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with a range of developmental and complex needs
• Support children in areas including fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, school participation, and functional independence
• Develop and implement individualised intervention plans
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary team members including SLT, Physiotherapy, Psychology, and Social Work
• Deliver parent education, home programmes, and school-based recommendations where appropriate
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation
• Participate in team meetings, service development, and clinical supervision

Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:

• Degree in Occupational Therapy

Desirable

• Experience within primary care or disability services
• Experience with sensory integration, ASD, developmental coordination disorder, and complex needs
• Access to own transport and full driver’s licence
