Job summary

CareChoice is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing for our Newtownpark home in South Dublin. You will assist the Director of Nursing in daily operations, oversee nursing staff, and ensure high standards of care in line with HIQA requirements.

The role requires extensive post-registration nursing experience, a management qualification, and a track record in delivering quality improvement. A resident-centered approach and flexible working hours are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with current NMBI registration.
• Minimum 7 years post-registration experience.
• Third level qualification in management.
• Experience with nursing older persons in the last 6 years (≥3 years).
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and inspections for residential care centres.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in day-to-day management of the home.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff to maintain clinical care and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and safety policies.
• Manage staffing needs: recruitment, scheduling and performance management.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, reviews and evaluations.
