Job summary

Cahercalla Community Care in Ennis, Co. Clare, is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Person in Charge and Director of Nursing in managing clinical services and guiding staff to deliver safe, person-centred resident care.

The role requires current NMBI registration, a post-registration qualification in healthcare management, and at least three years of senior nursing and clinical management experience. Excellent leadership and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Current NMBI registration is required.
• Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or leadership is required.
• Three years’ experience nursing older people with clinical management experience in the last six years is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the overall management of nursing and care services.
• Deputise for the PIC/DON as required.
• Oversee care standards, assessments and care plans.
• Support HIQA compliance, clinical governance and risk management.
• Coordinate audits and quality improvement actions.
• Review incidents, safeguarding concerns and complaints.
• Support recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development.
• Review staffing, rosters and resources within agreed budgets.
• Promote infection prevention, health and safety.
• Work with residents, families and the multidisciplinary team.
