Job summary

Arthur Mallon Foods is seeking a Product Development professional to drive the development and launch of innovative food products from concept to commercialisation. You will coordinate trials, maintain documentation and enable cross‑functional collaboration across Procurement, Production, Quality, R&D and the Culinary Innovation Team.

You will lead critical path meetings, assist with concept-to-launch projects, source ingredients, and support scale‑up and testing to ensure customer requirements

Qualifications

  • Food-related degree or 2+ years Product Development experience in the food industry.
  • Excellent communicator with strong enthusiasm, drive, and commitment to targets within a cross-functional team.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational abilities with the capacity to plan and manage competing workloads.
  • Represents the company and its values from an NPD perspective, building relationships at all levels.

  • Full clean driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Complete finished product specifications and approve artwork in line with critical paths to ensure successful product launches.
  • Lead cross-functional Critical Path meetings (minutes, actions, accountability) for NPD/NPI projects.
  • Assist product development from concept through launch, aligning with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to source new ingredients and packaging.
  • Work with R&D, Production, Quality and Culinary Innovation Manager to meet customer expectations.
  • Support scale‑up of formulations and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct factory trials and testing (sensory, texture, stability, transit) and report data.
  • Coordinate samples for validation (shelf-life, sensory panels, nutritional submissions, cooking instruction validation).
  • Maintain trial materials and development kitchen to GMP and food safety standards (FSAI, HACCP).
  • Troubleshoot production issues and propose process optimisations.
  • Document and communicate specifications, formulation changes, recipes, and packaging requirements.
  • Complete customer QAS and adhere to customer policies and internal standards.
  • Oversee product costing with Culinary Innovation Manager.
  • Ensure adequate product/materials for visits, presentations and sampling.
  • Prepare and cook products for internal and customer sampling.
  • Support customer site visits, external presentations and supplier visits as required.
  • Liaise with suppliers and Procurement to source raw materials for development and trials.
  • Deliver against product development and innovation KPIs.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to achieve on-time product launches.

Reporting to the Culinary Innovation Manager, you will support the effective management of critical paths that drive the development and launch of innovative food products from concept through to commercialisation. The role plays a key part in coordinating trials, maintaining accurate documentation, and enabling cross‑functional collaboration with Procurement, Production, Quality, R&D, and the Culinary Innovation Team to ensure projects progress efficiently and successfully.

Requirements
