Job summary

Newtown Park Hotel in Ireland is seeking a Night Manager to lead the overnight guest experience with warmth, vigilance, and professional standards.

You'll oversee safety, respond to late arrivals, coordinate wake-up calls, and collaborate with teams across departments to ensure smooth operations through the night.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for guests, colleagues, and visitors at all times.
  • Create a warm, approachable presence for late-arriving guests or those needing assistance overnight.
  • Handle guest and telephone enquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Deliver wake-up calls and in-room refreshments with genuine care and attention.
  • Conduct regular security checks across the hotel.
  • Follow all safety and chemical handling procedures carefully.
  • Ensure all fire exits and corridors remain clear and compliant.
  • Turn off unnecessary lighting, heating, and equipment to support energy conservation.
  • Secure keys and report any lost property or maintenance issues responsibly.
  • Observe all cash handling and hotel procedures with accuracy and integrity.
  • Engage in all scheduled training, including daily “15-minute standards” sessions.
  • Take part in job chats, appraisals, and ongoing performance development.
  • Support and uphold departmental and hotel-wide standards — always looking for ways to improve the guest experience.
  • Be familiar with all hotel offerings and promote them whenever possible.
  • Complete nightly cleaning of public areas, meeting spaces, restrooms, staff areas, and F&B outlets.
  • Assist in the restaurant, bar, or lounge when needed.
  • Support meeting room setup, refreshment service, and resetting rooms with attention to detail and pride in presentation.
  • Be proactive in responding to requests from other departments and guests.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues and managers.
  • Support inter-departmental tasks and assist wherever the business demands.
  • Attend hotel and departmental meetings, and contribute with enthusiasm and reliability.
