Job summary

Ergo is seeking a Network / Systems Consultant for a contract role in Dublin city centre. The successful candidate will leverage expertise in enterprise Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls) and Azure administration to support existing staff and hybrid infrastructure.

This hybrid role involves resolving complex infrastructure incidents, implementing improvements, documenting environments and transferring knowledge to internal ICT teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing enterprise routing, switching and firewall infrastructures.
• Experience administering enterprise Windows infrastructure (Active Directory/Entra ID).
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Azure VNets, Hub-Spoke topologies and ExpressRoute/VPN Gateways.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex infrastructure incidents and drive timely resolution.
• Implement infrastructure improvements and document environments.
• Transfer knowledge to internal ICT teams and create runbooks.
• Provide operational support for backup, security and disaster recovery.

Ergo are seeking a Network / Systems Consultant for an exciting contract opportunity with a well-known public sector client in Dublin city centre. The successful IT Consultant will leverage expertise in enterprise Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls) and Azure administration to support existing staff, operations and hybrid infrastructure.

This is a hybrid role which involves resolving complex infrastructure incidents, implementing infrastructure improvements, documenting technical environments and transferring knowledge to internal ICT teams.

You will work across the following areas:

• Azure: Virtual Machines, networking, storage, backup/recovery, monitoring, security, resource management, identity/access dependencies, hybrid connectivity, architecture, resilience and optimisation.
• Infrastructure: VMware, Windows Server, virtual machines, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, storage, backup/recovery, monitoring and integration between on-premises and Azure environments.
• Networking: LAN/WAN, routing and switching, firewalls, VPN/remote connectivity, segmentation, network monitoring/troubleshooting, resilience/redundancy and complex incident investigation.
• Operational support: Troubleshooting, incident resolution, infrastructure changes, risk reduction, security, backup/disaster recovery and technical input into future ICT arrangements.
• Documentation/knowledge transfer: Infrastructure documentation, architecture/dependency maps, operational runbooks, procedures and structured knowledge transfer to ICT staff.

You should have experience in…

• managing enterprise routing, switching and firewall infrastructures
• administering enterprise Windows infrastructure, storage arrays and directory services (Active Directory / Entra ID)
• configuring and troubleshooting cloud-native environments, specifically including Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Hub-Spoke topologies and ExpressRoute/VPN Gateways
