Job summary

You will manage enterprise networking, Windows server infrastructure, and cloud integration with Azure, ExpressRoute, and VMware environments to ensure resilience and optimal performance.

eir business talent is seeking applications for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer; this is a long term day rate contract. Contract is a hybrid position located in Dublin 1

Requirements

• Experience managing enterprise routing, switching, and firewall infrastructures, including:
• Enterprise LAN/WAN administration, routing, switching, firewall operations, VPN connectivity, network segmentation and wireless infrastructure support across complex production environments.
• Investigation and resolution of complex network incidents, service restoration activities, troubleshooting and technical escalation support for major incidents.
• Network monitoring, performance management, capacity analysis, resilience improvement, redundancy planning and identification of operational risks, dependencies and single points of failure.
• Proven experience administering enterprise Windows infrastructure, storage arrays and directory services (Active Directory / Entra ID), including:
• Administration of enterprise Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, storage infrastructure, identity services and core infrastructure platforms within large-scale environments.
• Support of VMware environments, virtualisation platforms, infrastructure monitoring solutions, performance optimisation initiatives and capacity management activities.
• Management of backup, restoration, disaster recovery, patching, upgrades and infrastructure maintenance activities to support service availability and operational resilience.
• Experience of configuring and troubleshooting cloud-native environments, specifically Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Hub-Spoke topologies, ExpressRoute/VPN Gateways and Azure Network, including:
• Configuration, administration and troubleshooting of Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Hub-Spoke architectures, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, Azure networking services and hybrid connectivity solutions.
• Management of Azure Virtual Machines, storage services, monitoring platforms, resource management functions, identity integrations, access dependencies and security configurations.
• Support of hybrid cloud environments integrating Azure services with on-premises infrastructure, VMware platforms and enterprise network environments.
• Diagnosis and resolution of complex cloud and hybrid infrastructure incidents, together with delivery of Azure deployments, migrations, upgrades, testing activities and post-implementation support.
• Enhancement of Azure resilience, backup and recovery capabilities, security posture, automation opportunities, operational effectiveness and future cloud operating model planning.
