The Irish Naval Service is seeking a qualified Engine Room Artificer/Mechanical Fitter to maintain propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary systems aboard naval vessels. The ERA will perform preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and support in emergency response operations at sea.

Applicants should possess HETAC Level 7 in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, QQI advanced certificates in relevant trades, and the EOOW certificate or equivalent competency.

Qualifications

• Educational/Professional qualifications required as listed in the vacancy.
• Must be 18+ and under 39 years with proof of age.
• Work permit eligibility to serve in the Defence Forces and medical/physical security clearance will be assessed.

Responsabilités

• Maintain propulsion, power generation and auxiliary machinery onboard.
• Perform planned maintenance and defect rectification on mechanical, electrical and fluid systems.
• Diagnose faults and carry out troubleshooting to ensure continuous operation.
• Assist in emergency response, including firefighting and damage control, and maintain records of maintenance and parts.
