National Merchandising Specialist

Job summary

jobs-placeme is seeking a nationwide Merchandiser to optimize in-store product availability and presentation. You will work with marketing, area sales managers, and store teams to ensure correct stock mix, signage, and pricing across locations.

The role requires 1–2 nights away weekly, a full driving license, and strong communication. You will apply the latest merchandising trends and CRM tools to drive sales and brand presence.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years merchandising experience essential.
• Proven track record in hitting and exceeding merchandising KPI’s.
• Agricultural knowledge and background an advantage.
• Must be able to travel; 1–2 nights away per week.
• Must have full clean driver’s license; trailer license desirable but not essential.
• Customer focused with a strong business acumen.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to build strong relationships with team members, in-store staff and customers.
• Ability to multi-task while working under pressure.
• Up to date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices.
• Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
• IT literate and experience using CRM an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong listening, presentation, and decision-making skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and good understanding of Sales.

Responsibilities

• Merchandise products at trade stores nationwide.
• Ensure products and accessories are merchandised according to in-store planograms.
• Manage on-shelf availability and visibility for all listed lines in outdoor and indoor locations.
• Ensure products are clean and well-presented.
• Plan store visits and log merchandising calls in CRM.
• Maximize customer interest and sales by displaying products in prime locations.
• Attend open days and shows to support the sales team.
• Monitor impact of merchandising in each store.
• Position products with signage and clear pricing; negotiate for extra brand space at store level.
• Gather competitor knowledge and respond to market changes.
• Monitor stock levels to showcase best sellers effectively.
