Job summary

Iconic Media Group in Ireland is seeking an experienced Multimedia Journalist to lead coverage for the Leinster Express and Laois Live. You’ll report, capture video and audio, write engaging stories and build community contacts, delivering local scoops across digital, print and social platforms.

Ideal candidate has storytelling and interview skills, familiarity with CMS, and a drive to inform and inspire communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in producing a range of content for digital, print and social platforms.
• Strong storytelling and interview skills for local scoops and public announcements.
• Ability to build contacts and interview diverse sources from sports stars to members of the public.

• Produce local news stories for Leinster Express and Laois Live across formats.

Here at Iconic Media Group - Ireland’s biggest local digital and newspaper publisher - we’re investing in our continuing growth and looking for an experienced, ambitious Multimedia Journalist to play a senior role within our newsroom and really get results. You’ll be building on your skills and making a name for yourself in the award-winning newsroom of one of our top regional news franchises - Leinster Express and Laois Live.

So, what do you need to get started? The writing and storytelling skills to produce a range of content, from big local scoops to press releases and announcements. The confidence to build contacts and interview everyone from sports stars to members of the public. And a passion that matches ours - to inform, inspire and promote your community.

You should have a strong understanding of digital, video and print content, ideally with experience and proficiency with content management and publishing systems. However, if you can bring a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a commitment to develop your skillset, full familiarisation and training will be provided. Experience in court reporting and local government meetings will be a distinct advantage, as would a driving licence and your own car.
