Job summary

Onic in Dublin is seeking a Multi-Media Local Journalist to cover stories on the ground within the local transmission area, delivering high-quality audio, digital and video content for our platforms.

The role requires a journalism degree and proven reporting experience across radio, digital or print, with strengths in on-air delivery, interviewing and fast-paced storytelling, plus willingness to travel across the TSA.

Qualifications

• A degree in journalism, media, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a reporter across radio, digital, or print platforms.
• Knowledge of local franchise area and community issues.
• Experience with newsroom software and editing tools.

Responsibilities

• Spend at least half of your working hours on location sourcing and breaking exclusive news and sports stories.
• Capture voices of local politicians, community leaders, business reps and citizens for broadcasts.
• Script clear local news copy and prepare high-quality audio assets for the Onic News Hub.
• Produce digital-first content including long-form articles, video explainers, and real-time alerts.
• Collaborate with local talk show production teams to expand stories into long-form discussions and podcasts.
• Maintain alignment with Codes of Fairness, Objectivity, and Impartiality.
