Job summary

SyBridge Technologies in Galway seeks an experienced Mould Fitter to join our manufacturing and tooling team. You will fit, assemble, maintain, repair, and modify injection moulds to ensure they meet required specifications and are ready for production.

The role is onsite with close collaboration to Toolmakers, Engineers, Production and Quality teams. A hands-on background with precision tooling and reading drawings is essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on mould fitting and assembly in an injection moulding environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with mould maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Fit, assemble, disassemble, and modify injection moulds per drawings and specs.
  • Perform mould maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment as required.
  • Inspect mould components for correct dimensions and functionality.
  • Use hand tools and precision measuring equipment safely and effectively.
  • Identify issues and recommend corrective actions with engineering teams.
  • Prepare moulds for production and support trials and production testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and work performed.
  • Follow quality, safety, and production procedures.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mould Fitter to join our manufacturing and tooling team in Galway. The Mould Fitter will be responsible for the fitting, assembly, maintenance, repair, and modification of injection moulds to ensure they meet required specifications and are ready for production.

The successful candidate will have strong hands‑on mould fitting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with Toolmakers, Engineers, Production, and Quality teams. This is an onsite role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fit, assemble, disassemble, and modify injection moulds to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out mould maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and refurbishment as required.
  • Inspect mould components to ensure correct dimensions, alignment, fit, and functionality.
  • Use hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mould‑related issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Toolmakers and Engineering to support mould modifications and improvements.
  • Prepare moulds for production and ensure they meet required quality and performance standards.
  • Assist with mould trials, troubleshooting, and resolving issues identified during production or testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of mould maintenance, repairs, modifications, and work completed.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality, safety, and production procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to mould performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Follow all applicable health and safety requirements and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience as a Mould Fitter, Toolmaker, Mould Maker, or similar tooling role within an injection moulding environment.
  • Strong understanding of injection mould construction, fitting, and assembly.
  • Experience working with precision components and close tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with mould maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Proficient use of hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with plastic injection moulds and tooling.
  • Experience supporting mould trials and production troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hot runner systems, slides, lifters, ejector systems, and other mould components.
  • Experience working in a high‑volume or technically demanding manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant technical qualification, apprenticeship, or formal tooling/mould‑making training.
