Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee motorway renewal and maintenance projects in the Greater Dublin area. You will supervise pavement works, drainage and structures, ensuring safety, quality and programme adherence.

The role requires night-shift work, strong contractual and QA capability, and collaboration with contractors and authorities. A Level 8 Civil Engineering degree and Irish driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Level 8).
Post-graduate civil engineering construction supervision or project delivery experience.
Proven track record in pavement renewal and highway maintenance projects.
Strong QA and site supervision knowledge.
Experience with contractors and multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and problem solving abilities.
Full clean driving licence.
Willingness to work predominantly night shifts.
PSDP/PSCS awareness and health & safety compliance.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.
Experience administering Public Works contracts, valuations and claims.

Responsibilities

Act as Resident Engineer on motorway renewal and maintenance projects.
Supervise contractors undertaking pavement rehabilitation and resurfacing works.
Oversee drainage, ducting, structures and related civil works.
Monitor construction activities for quality, safety and contractual compliance.
Undertake inspections, audits and QA checks.
Review site records, diaries and progress reports.
Monitor programme delivery and flag risks or delays.
Liaise with contractors, clients, authorities and stakeholders.
Attend site meetings and contribute to project reporting.
Ensure traffic management measures align with approved plans.
Assist with contract administration and contractor performance assessments.
Support broader project team to deliver motorway asset renewals.
