Job summary

Leeson Group is seeking an APA qualified Motor Damage Claim Handler to manage a full portfolio of motor damage claims from first notification to final settlement.

You will act as the primary contact for policyholders, engineers, repair garages, and other third parties, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, fairly, and in line with regulatory standards. Hybrid options available.

Qualifications

• Must hold an APA qualification.
• 2–5 years' experience managing motor damage claims.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, and ability to manage a busy caseload.

Responsibilities

• Proactive end-to-end handling of motor damage claims from report to settlement.
• Assess vehicle damage to determine repair vs total loss.
• Coordinate with engineers, repair garages and third parties to resolve claims.
• Provide timely, clear updates to policyholders throughout the claim lifecycle.

About the Role

Leeson Group is hiring an APA Qualified Motor Damage Claim Handler to manage a full portfolio of motor damage claims from first notification through to final settlement. You'll act as the key point of contact for policyholders, engineers, repair garages, and other third parties, ensuring every claim is handled efficiently, fairly, and in line with regulatory standards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced claims professional who enjoys owning cases end-to-end and delivering a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Proactive End-to-End Claims Handling Manage a full caseload of motor damage claims from initial report through to final settlement, keeping cases moving and proactively resolving issues as they arise.

Damage Assessment Assess vehicle damage to determine repair vs. total loss outcomes. Handling all settlement calculations and communications relating to vehicle write-offs, ensuring accuracy and fairness at every stage.

Technical Liaison Act as the primary point of contact for engineers, repair garages, and other third parties involved in a claim, ensuring smooth coordination and high-quality resolution.

Customer Excellence Provide clear, consistent, and timely updates to policyholders and other stakeholders throughout the life of a claim, maintaining a high standard of professional service at all times.

Requirements

• Professional Qualification: Must hold an APA qualification
  
• Experience: 2–5 years' experience specifically managing motor damage claims.
• Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills, sound judgement in assessing liability and damage, and the ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
• Technical: Comfortable working with claims management systems
