Job summary

Ward and Burke in Cork is seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic to join our team. You will maintain, service and repair a range of mobile plant and heavy machinery on-site and in the workshop.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with construction, agricultural, quarry or heavy equipment, strong diagnostic skills in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, and the ability to work independently or with a team. A full driving license is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mobile plant mechanic and related roles.
• Basic mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy machinery.
• Electrical fault-finding experience is a plus.
• Full driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on mobile plant and heavy machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Attend breakdowns and carry out site repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic to join our team in Cork.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled mechanic with experience working on construction, agricultural, quarry or heavy plant machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a range of mobile plant and equipment both on-site and in the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Fitter, Agricultural Mechanic or similar.
• Basic mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy machinery.
• Electrical fault-finding experience would be an advantage.
• Full driving licence required
• Ability to work independently and manage on-site breakdowns.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
